Privacy you can audit

Every finance app says it respects your privacy.

This one hands you the receipt.

Monestra makes no network requests at all until you turn on the one optional feature that needs them — daily exchange rates and share prices. Everything else is computed on your device.

And when it does connect, it writes down what it did. Open Settings and read the log yourself. It sits directly beneath the switch that permits it, because a promise you can't check isn't worth much.

All egress passes through a single component, and an automated test fails the build if networking code appears anywhere else in the codebase — so the log can't quietly become incomplete.

What's inside

Not a budgeting app.
The whole picture.

Fourteen modules you can show, hide, and reorder until the app is shaped like your life rather than someone else's idea of it. Everything rolls into one net worth — counted once, never twice.

Dashboard

Net worth, what's coming up, and what needs attention — assembled from every module you keep visible.

AssistantBeta

Ask about your money in plain language. Runs on-device, grounded in real figures, and never saves the conversation.

Checklist

What this month still needs — the salary unpaid, the premium due, the balance nobody has touched since June. Each row carries its evidence, and acts on the real record.

Radar

The money ahead, month by month. Which of the next twelve are heavy, what makes them heavy, and how much warning you have.

Reports

A polished PDF financial statement, or a focused report on any one module — rendered entirely on your device.

Accounts

Balances across every institution and currency, entered by you and answerable to nobody else.

Investments

Holdings with optional daily valuation — end-of-day data, never a live ticker pretending to be one.

Assets

Property, vehicles, jewellery, electronics — with depreciation, a warranty and service radar, and an encrypted document vault.

Goals

Savings targets and debt payoffs with honest pace projections, and a trophy case for the ones you finish.

Compensation

RSUs, options, ESPP, and cash pay — vesting schedules generated from the grant, not maintained by hand.

Subscriptions

Every recurring cost in one list, surfaced before it renews instead of after it charges.

Household Staff

The people you pay monthly — advances, festival bonuses, and cash payments that never touch a bank statement.

Insurance

Policies, coverage, and renewals, with reminders early enough to actually do something about them.

Travel

A passport of the countries, continents, and years you've seen. Not everything worth tracking is money.

Quietly intelligent

Ask about your money.
The answer never leaves.

Monestra's assistant runs on Apple's on-device foundation models. It reads a live summary of the modules you keep visible and answers from figures the app has already calculated — so it can't invent a number, and it has nowhere to send one.

Nothing is stored. Close the conversation and it's gone, because there was never a transcript to keep.

On paper, still private

A real financial statement, produced by your own machine.

Choose a whole-life statement or a single module, pick how much detail you want, and watch a live preview of exactly what will export. Paginated, typeset, and rendered locally — there is no server in this loop to upload anything to. Export is gated behind Face ID, and the PDF itself can carry a password.

Monestra's Reports module on macOS

Mac · iPad · iPhone

Native on every screen you own.

Not one layout stretched three ways. A real sidebar on Mac, a two-column iPad, a tab bar on iPhone — each built for the machine it runs on, and kept in step through your own private iCloud. Apple's private database, which Monestra has no way to read.

The details that make it liveable

The small things, taken seriously.

Find, everywhere ⌘K

Search every record, screen, and action at once. In-app only — nothing is handed to Spotlight or Siri, so your records stay where you put them.

Type it, don't tap it

Type "netflix 649 monthly" into Find and it offers to create the subscription. You still see and save the editor — nothing is written behind your back.

Hide everything, instantly

One tap masks every value on screen. Revealing them again asks for Face ID, so a glance over your shoulder gets nothing.

Reminders that stay discreet

Renewals, vests, premiums, and pay days — each switchable on its own. Amounts stay off the lock screen unless you explicitly allow them.

It remembers what things were worth

Every balance and holding keeps its own history, so net worth is a line you can follow rather than a number you have to trust. Correct a figure from an old statement and the past corrects with it.

Your financial year

April–March, January–December, or a start date of your choosing. Every report and projection follows it.

Encrypted export

Seal your whole store into a backup file with your own passphrase. Not our key — yours. A lost device stops being a lost financial history.

An encrypted vault

Receipts, policies, and warranty documents, stored encrypted alongside the things they belong to.

Every currency, no bank required

Because nothing depends on a bank connection, Monestra works in every country and every currency — with keyless daily exchange rates, and optional stock prices using your own market-data key.
