Insurance
Every policy in one place, with cover totals, renewal and premium dates, and the things people forget — like a missing nominee.
Insurance holds policies of every kind: term and life, health, critical illness, personal accident, endowment and ULIP, car, two-wheeler, home, travel.

What it tracks#
Sum assured, premium and its frequency, the policy period, the insurer, and the nominee. Policy numbers are encrypted at rest — never indexed, never exported.

Observations#
Monestra surfaces what it can see from the records themselves: policies approaching renewal, premiums coming due, policies with no nominee recorded, and cover totalled by type.
The nominee check is the one people are most often glad of. It is a field that is easy to leave blank and expensive to have left blank, and nothing else in a person's life will ever prompt them about it.
As everywhere in Monestra, these are descriptions. Monestra will tell you a policy renews in eleven days and that another has no nominee. It will not tell you to buy more cover, and it has no opinion about whether you are adequately insured.
Policies cover assets#
Insurance publishes its policies so other modules can point at them. Assets uses this: an asset links to the policy covering it, and its cover state is read from that policy rather than from a flag on the asset.
That means an asset's cover stays truthful on its own. Let the policy lapse and the asset reads "Policy lapsed". Delete the policy and it reads "linked, but deleted" — never a silent reversion to uninsured.
A policy can also list what it covers, because the link is stored on one side only. A back-pointer stored twice can disagree with itself; a single stored link cannot.
Renewal reminders#
Premium and renewal dates raise reminders through Settings ▸ Notifications, appear in Coming up on the Dashboard, and show on Radar as dated outflows.
Insurance dates are recorded on the policy, not computed, so Radar draws them solid.
