The daily loop
Radar
What your money is about to do, and when it gets heavy. A forward horizon built out of commitments you have already recorded — and honest about which dates it computed.
Radar answers the question the Dashboard cannot: not where do I stand, but what is coming. It reads dated, repeating commitments from every module and lays them across the months ahead.
Radar owns no data. There is no "add" button — everything it shows lives in the module that owns it, and you edit it there.

Two lenses#
Radar has two views of the same information, and the ‹ › controls mean different things in each.
Horizon — how heavy is each period?#

- The diverging chart. Outflow below the axis, inflow above. In the three-month range the buckets are weeks; beyond that, months.
- The running-net trace, labelled known flows only. This is not a balance forecast. It is the net of the commitments Monestra knows about, and it says so on the chart, because a line that looked like a balance projection would be wrong in a way you could not see.
- Pressure points — the heaviest days, ranked by size rather than by date, each with its lead time. Ranking by date buries the big one behind three small ones.
- Composition — the same total broken down by module.
- Observations — plain descriptions of the shape. Never a recommendation.

Schedule — when exactly?#

A month at a time. Each day carries direction dots — money in, money out — and the grid indexes a day-grouped list underneath, which you can filter and search.
Certainty, and dates the app computed#
Every flow states its direction and its certainty, and declares how it repeats. That is what lets one recorded line become a twelve-month horizon.
Radar projects forward, and everything past the first occurrence is marked projected.
More subtly: some first dates are computed too. "The next 5th", a renewal that has rolled forward, "next month's pay day unless this one is settled" — recompute tomorrow and the date could move. Radar draws these dotted, so a date the app worked out is never shown in the weight reserved for one you recorded.
| Module | First date |
|---|---|
| Subscriptions, Goals, Staff | Computed — drawn dotted |
| Insurance, Investments, Compensation | Recorded on the record — drawn solid |
A dotted line that has been sitting there a while usually means a date has drifted. The Checklist's Confirm renewal is what turns it solid again — see Checklist.
What Radar will not do#
- It will not forecast your balance. It has no idea what you will spend on groceries. It knows what you have committed to, and the chart is labelled to say exactly that.
- It will not invent an amount. A commitment with no amount recorded appears on the date with no size.
- It will not show a flow where no money moves. An ESPP purchase date or a holding-period mark is a milestone, not a payment, and Radar leaves those alone.
Range#
The range selector sizes the Horizon chart only. Projection always spans a fixed two-year window regardless of what the chart is showing, and Schedule pages by month.
